A couple notes about my Twitter "following" policy. I generally follow people back who follow me ... unless:

I notice porn, "wing nut" politics (whether "left" or "right"), spammy sales pitches,you say nothing of consequence about anything but yourself, but post inscrutable tweets with URLs leading to sales pitches, you send me a spammy auto DM, you post 50 tweets an hour - or - I don't notice any followers, more than a few dozen posts or an avatar/photograph of some kind. I regularly clean my account for those who follow then unfollow. I don't follow anyone whose primary statement is "I am a social media expert" (masters do not need to announce themselves).
