New Moon in Capricorn

With a New Moon conjunct Pluto and square Uranus, this year could go out with a resounding crunch! Uranus square Pluto is bringing the world to an important crossroads in our collective direction. On an individual level, with the New Moon interwoven with this energy, you are likely to find yourself thinking about where you are going in your life too, with far implications and possibilities. There's no such thing as a short-term or minimal effect with these Bad Boys. So, where do you want to be in your life by 2013?

Will there be a 2013?? With the New Moon hooked into Pluto and Uranus, it might make you wonder...

There's a lot of speculation going around that the world could end on December 21, 2012 (using the Mayan Calendar). There is no shortage of opinions about this! My own is that if something catastrophic happens by the end of next year, it will most likely be because Humanity has succumbed to its worst qualities and we will have failed to rise successfully to modern challenges. What I don't believe is that a calendar (or any prediction, for that matter) can simply dictate what will happen to us.

It's the same in astrology. We can see when dramatic change is likely to occur, but not the form it will take nor how we will respond to it. I do think we are approaching a crucial turning point in our history and development. Whatever cusp we are approaching collectively in the coming years will certainly leave us changed, but I'm not convinced this will necessarily result in our collective mortality.

We'll be seeing a lot about this in the coming year, including on my website. It's very easy to get carried away with drama, fear and our (not so) creative imagination. I hope to contribute a grounded, balanced perspective with the many voices talking about this in the coming months.

On a personal level, this is a time to map out what you want to accomplish in your life over the next year. In what area do you want to grow, learn and expand your horizons? What goals can you set for yourself, and what are the resources and strategies that can guide you to success? What do you need to let go of or push into the background in order to put your focus on these goals?
